Chief Peter Moreira brings over 30 years of dedicated service in law enforcement to his role as the Chief of the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS). Before his appointment in March 2023, he served as a Staff Superintendent with the Toronto Police Service, where he earned high levels of trust and respect among members at all levels and across the city's diverse communities. A lifelong resident of Durham Region, Chief Moreira is committed to fostering community engagement, transparency, and the modernization of policing strategies to effectively serve and protect its residents.
Mayor Dan Carter: Serving as Mayor of Oshawa since 2018, Mayor Carter has a compelling personal journey from overcoming homelessness and addiction to becoming a dedicated public servant. His leadership focuses on economic growth, social services, and community development.
